Diving at the Duane wreck in Key Largo is seriously cool! The USS Duane, a former U.S. Coast Guard cutter, is now resting underwater in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The water here is warm and clear most of the year, which makes diving super comfortable. Before heading down, it's smart to check the weather and sea conditions, as currents can change things up.
One of the coolest parts? We saw lots of sharks hanging around the wreck! The Duane sits upright on the sandy bottom, starting at around 50 feet and going deeper. You can swim through the corridors of the ship and see all sorts of marine life living in and around the wreck—colorful fish, corals, sponges, and, yes, those impressive sharks.
Overall, diving at the Duane is an awesome experience. It's like exploring an underwater world full of history and marine wonders. Plus, spotting sharks adds an extra thrill to the adventure
